Champagne + Fromage

The Champagne and Fromage design brief. I much preferred this brief than the others as I want to give myself a challenge this year. The Champagne and Fromage specify in serving limited-production and had a very successful bar-bistro opening in London’s Covent Garden so they have decided to open up another franchise which will be sited in the renowned Temple bar area of the capital city of Dublin, Ireland and for the first time genuine fresh quality French food will be prepared and available to Dubliners with the choice to purchase from the shop or chill and partake in the bistro while appreciating the distinctive countryside French style.

The concept to this given brief was to create a proposed design solution for Champagne and Fromage new location and hope to attract a broad exciting range of custom to this new bar-bistro shop and the client would like to host cheese tasting, champagne tasting and more company events.

The key elements of this brief;

  • A champagne bar

  • Bistro that could accommodate seatings for atleast 16 customers

  • A small kitchen area for the preparation of cheese boards and sweet menus

  • A small shop recommending a selection of Champagne and cheese

  • Suite to accommodate 20 people for company events

  • Toilet facilities for male/female/disabled customers

  • Storage

  • Office

My final design concept there is a combination of rustic with an industrial twist with cool greys, reds, whites silvers, blacks and browns. The red brick walls gives a warm feeling atmosphere and the use of natural materials such as distressed slate like the hampden industrial bar stool. The industrial medieval reclaimed timber table tops and the elio rustic wood chairs makes the place feel homey with a relaxing ambiance when entering to the bistro bar.
